2017 AMSOIL Championship Snocross Pro Open Champion Kody Kamm is reportedly on the disabled list for the remainder of the summer after injuring his leg in a moto-related incident.

Kamm would only confirm that he badly jammed his heel while racing the Lucas Oil Pro Motocross national in Millville, Minnesota and that he was taking some time off to let it heal. However, a source from within the Hentges Racing team was quoted as saying Kamm’s leg may have been fractured at Millville and then subsequently broken while riding in the weeks following the race and that it required surgery and a plate.

The rule of thumb with snocross racers is generally to suspend summer moto activity by the time Hay Days rolls around in early September to allow ample time to mend in the event of a summer injury. With 14 weeks still on the calendar before the season opener in Duluth, Minnesota it’s likely Kamm will be at full speed when the first green flag drops.
