Even though it is the beginning of April, Cor Powersports and Midwest Extreme Snowmobile Challenge (MESC) is just hitting mid-season form. Round 6 took racers to Blackjack Ski Resort on April 7th and 8th. This unique race course had three different divisions; cross country, hill cross, and hill climb.

USXC racer Zach Herfindahl rails around the corner taking first in borth pro classes in round 6.

Cross country was raced on Saturday and riders were on the track until sundown. In the Pro class riders started 20 seconds apart, being a timed event. Dan Revering and Zach Herfindahl’s times were close for most of the race until Herfindahl blew a belt.  Revering had an advantage on the course and crossed the finish line first, but Herfindahl managed to make up enough time to take the win by 7 seconds over Revering. Nick Roehl rounded off the podium taking 3rd and Alex Hetteen took the win in pro mod on the new 2019 Indy.

The unique race course did not only bring riders up and down ski hills, but also took races through small patches of woods.

On Sunday rider competed in Hillcross and Hillclimb. In Hill Cross, Cole Nyman swept the pro 600 mod, pro 900 mod, and open classes, and Taylor Cole took the win in pro 600 stock, and pro 900 strock. In Hillclimb, riders were tested on uphill speed. Andrew Michels won the pro stock 900 class, while Jake Kurtz, took the win in the pro stock 900 137+ class. Bob Berghius dominated the pro stock 600 class and was the stock king of the weekend with the time of 57.120. Cor powersports will be at Lutsen mountain on April 21-22 with the same disciplines.

Dan Revering, normally a semi pro rider, put out everything he had to fight against experienced rider Zach Herfindahl. He put in a good fight finishing 2nd in the pro factory class.
