Matt Goede led the majority of the historic World Championship Derby and then capitalized on a late race red flag to grab fresh goggles and hold off Zach Dewald. Multi-time champion Blaine Stephenson rounded out the podium in third, while cross-country star and hometown boy Zach Herfindahl finished fourth in his first ever attempt at oval racing.
