Harris Huizenga and Darrin Mees each won a main event at Saturday’s “The Duel” SnowBikeCross qualifier at ERX Motor Park, heading the list of 10 riders to advance to the Winter X Games in Aspen, Colorado.

Huizenga won the first dual over Yaunick Boucher, Mark Wilson, Jesse Kirchmeyer and Colton Davis, who also punched their tickets to the ESPN spectacle.

Mees, nearly saw his place in the second main event vaporize when he tipped over in the final turn while leading his second round heat race. The former pro snocrosser gathered it up in time to transfer and then put in a strong ride in duel number two, finishing ahead of fellow X Gamers Keaton Ward, Mick Olson, William Van Hook and Jimmy Jarret.

Mike Schultz grabbed the checkered flag in the Adaptive/Para class in which all nine participants will be eligible to compete in Aspen.

Brett Turcotte’s road to X was littered with mine fields, but there’s always a chance the likable Canadian will score an at-large bid to go with his Snowmobile Freestyle and Snow Bike Best Trick entries.
