It’s easy enough to copy/paste the point standings after just one weekend (two rounds) of racing. However, if you were at the track or able to watch on the live feed – https://snocross.com/livestream/ then you know not all is as it appears.

The top three riders in this week’s pole could all make a case for themselves, but we are giving the nod to Lincoln Lemieux for his opening night win and shoulda, woulda, coulda been victory on night two. Lemieux had set sail early in Saturday night’s final and had a sizable lead with just a couple laps remaining when the clutch side door panel came off resulting in a black flag. Lemieux was blasted in the first corner of the race breaking the rubber straps that hold the panel closed and while it hung in there for most of the race, it finally let go just short of the finish.

Truth be told, Elias Ishoel was on a terror getting past Lemieux’s teammate Hunter Patenaude for second and likely would have mounted a last lap challenge but that’s one that we’ll never know.

  1. Lincoln Lemieux – Doo
  2. Elias Ishoel – Doo
  3. Hunter Patenaude – Doo
  4. Jake Yurk – Cat
  5. Oskar Norum – Pol
  6. Logan Christian – Cat
  7. Kody Kamm – Pol
  8. Dan Benham – Doo
  9. Kyle Pallin – Pol
  10. Emil Harr – Pol
Ishoel encountered a few problems on Friday but showed mid-season form on Saturday night.
We kew Patenaude would be good as a rookie but he was uber good at ERX.
We had a team owner comment “man, Jake Yurk knows how to race with a lead”. High praise when you consider how many fast racers haven’t mastered that art.
Most of the Polaris teams struggled with minor first race gremlins with their new machine but Oskar Norum was the most consistent of the bunch, finding his way to the podium on Saturday.
