Day 9: Raycer’s Journey
Today Mema Vicky got to spend the day with Raycer. She was running him around all over as he had a busy day of PT/OT. He had a chest X-ray today to see how his lungs look and get a baseline x-ray. Everything is looking good in that aspect. His fine motor in his hands improves every day, he’s getting pretty good at working his phone. He definitely does not like music therapy lol the nurses may have to find another activity for him to do during that time. Otherwise he’s been doing well and in good spirits. He has in the past few days become an advocate for himself and I am very impressed on how much he is learning about his condition and knows when something just isn’t right. Thank you all for your continuing prayers. Raycer has a long road ahead of him but I know his will to walk and his belief will get him to his goal! 🙏🏻❤️ oh and he’s rocking his Keller Electric shirt today — with Ryan R FrankJoseph Kain and Haylie Frank.

Day 8 of Raycer’s Journey:
Raycer spent the morning hanging out and watching some movies. Got up in his chair for lunch and we went outside.
He’s really loving the sunshine today. Such a beautiful afternoon to be outside. Doctor came in and talked with us earlier this morning and is incredibly impressed on how he is doing he stated “wow this is the best I have ever seen anyone do with this type of spinal cord injury post-op day 8. Tomorrow he will be able to get is indwelling Foley catheter discontinued and will start PT and OT with full force.
We want to thank everyone for the continuing prayers as I know God is hearing all of your prayers. A big thank you to all of our family and friends, our church community, the community of Paynesville, snocross community, and everyone else across the US who are praying for him. We are so grateful to have such loving support from you all. ❤️

Day 7 of Raycer’s Journey:
This morning Raycer woke up from a decent night sleep and had breakfast while I showed him the love and support from all of you on FB. I think he’s starting to understand that we’re not alone in this battle. Definitely put a smile on his face when reading all the comments and posts. Then he finally got to get out of bed and get into his wheel chair for the first time. I pushed him to the skyway to show him how close we are to the Capital. Then we went outside for the first time. Boy did he like that. He said he really liked the feel of the slight breeze and the warm sun ☀️. He only lasted about 10 minutes until I heard snoring lol. I then pushed him back to the room so he could get ready for PT & OT. While he was gone I did a little artwork in his room 🙂
Kind of a cool little story about being at Gillete is that the Charge Nurse here follows Snocross racing and had seen the post about Raycer’s accident. She couldn’t believe that he ended up here and she gets to help on his recovery 🙂
